Goodies for You!

Two blogs for you to check out--and maybe win!  First of all, one of my Northern Kentucky friends and follow stampers, Jackie is celebrating her one-year blogaversary.  Check out her blog at http://papermoments.blogspot.com/.  In order to be eligible to win, you will need to become a follower of her blog, post a link on your blog or sidebar, and leave a comment.  Easy peasy--and some lucky person will win some great items!

Secondly, Jodie, the owner of Bugaboo stamps (http://www.bugaboostamps.com/) and the "big cheese" of the Bugaboo design team that I am on is also offering some wonderful blog candy!  Go to http://bugaboostamps.blogspot.com/.  You may have to scroll down a little to find the blog candy, but check out what is there also!  Jodie offers free digi stamps according to the number of followers that we have.  She promised 3 for 300 followers--and we passed that yesterday.  They should be posted soon!  She also promised a free mini set if we hit 500!  Check it out.  Her images are wonderful!  When you find the blog candy post, here are the things you need to do:  become a follower, spread the word with link on blog or sidebar, and leave a comment.  Not much for the rewards you could receive!

Good luck!

Challenge # 5--Last Card for the Day

News for you!  In the Greeting Farm contest, Team Ho made it to the next round!  For those of you who voted, thank you so much.  I may ask for your help again:)

My last card uses another (http://www.bugaboostamps.com/) image called BB Basketball Girl.  I used more paper from that sports pack, cardstock, ribbon, and buttons from Papertrey, my nestabilities, and colored my image with copics.

This card will be entered into a challenge at:
Challenge was to use black and white--and one other color.  Mine was orange.

Challenge # 4

Prior to this term on Bugaboo's design team, I spent a great deal of time participating in swaps on Splitcoast Stampers.  One of my favorite hostesses there is Celestial Stamper.  She has an annual swap called "Lei it on Me".  Cards must relate to beach theme:  hula girls, cabana boys, palm trees, fou-fou drinks, flamingos, etc.  I am in this year's swap--and this is my entry for it.  I used Bugaboo's http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ image called Gus--at my age, placed him on Papertrey and SU cardstock, SEI paper, an embellishment that I picked up at Tuesday Mornings, a sentiment from the Papertrey Beach set, and colored the image with copics.  Love the way this turned out!

This card will be entered into a challenge at
# 7 Challenge-- for men/boys

Challenge # 3

One of my favorite images!  I played on softball teams for many years.  One of my favorite things about spring was anticipating the new softball season.  This image makes me fondly remember that!  The image (from http://www.bugaboostamps.com/) is called BB Baseball girl.  Love the bubble gum in her mouth!  I used some paper that was in an assorted sports package, followed a sketch from Friday Sketchers, used cardstock from Papertrey, colored with copics, and added those large red hearts.

This card will be entered into challenges at:
Sketch
R is for Red challenge
Spring is in the Air
Rolling into Spring

Challenge # 2

Ah, a Stella image!  You know I love these.  This one from http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ is called Gus and Stella Tidbits--hot flashes.  I used a sketch from the Critter Challenge, cardstock from SU, my swiss dots embossing folder, paper from my stash, colored with copics, and added Papertrey ribbon.

This card will be entered into a challenge at http://critterchallengeblog.blogspot.com/
Sketch challenge.

Challenge # 1

I got some stamping time in yesterday--and I used it to make quite a few cards to enter in challenges!  Keep checking back, as I plan on posting five different challenge cards today.  First is a new image that Jodie just released on Friday (http://www.bugaboostamps.com/) called TURT-ladybug.  Last year I found this Martha Stewart ladybug paper on clearance at Michaels, and this week I found the Martha Stewart ladybug embellishments on clearance at WalMart.  My lucky day!  I used Papertrey cardstock and ribbon, a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches, and colored the image with copics.  I think the card should have a sentiment that says "He ain't heavy; he's my brother!"  Maybe I'll add that to the inside:)

This will go into a challenge at:
Anything goes challenge.

Challenge # 4

You can see that I was busy!  I subbed those three days--and did not get to do any card making, so I made up for it yesterday!  I spent the entire day making cards.  This card uses an image called from http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ called TURT--girl turtle.  Isn't she cute?!  Jodie just released this line--and I love it!  I used Papertrey cardstock, SU DP, a Papertrey button, ribbon from my stash, colored with copics, and made the flowers.

Challenge # 27 - green, pink, and flowers

Challenge # 3

This card uses a free image that Jodie ( http://www.bugaboostamps.com/) gave to followers of our blog. I used Papertrey cardstock, some fish DP, ribbon from my stash, green bling, and colored with copics.  I added a sentiment from Stamping Bella that I punched with a SU punch, and scalloped the edge of the trim with the Papertrey scalloped die.

# 84 - Make it Manly

Challenge # 2

Another card to make your thoughts go to the beach!  For this card, I used another image from http://www.bugaboostamps.com./  I used cardstock, ribbon, and button from Papertrey, colored with copics, added some DP from my stash, and cut out the image and say her on sand paper to look like sand.  I think she is cute!

This will be entered into a challenge at http://papermakeupstamps.blogspot.com/.  The challenge was to be inspired by the sun.

Challenge Card # 1 (Multiple posts--keep checking until you get to the Crafty Hos Challenge)

I'm ready to "Think Spring!"  We had a very hard winter here--and our good friends left this past week for the beach!  Makes me sad because I want to be there too!  So, since I can't, I'll make a couple of beach-themed cards.  My first beach card uses an image from http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ called BB--Isabella Beach--and how cute it is!!!!!!!!  I found some flip flop paper in my stash, used Papertrey and Prism cardstock, cut out some flip flops from a Papertrey beach stamp set and glued them onto a red crocheted flower, added some yellow rhinestones, colored with copics, and found the perfect size and color of sunglasses to put on Isabella.  How cute!

This card will be entered into a challenge at http://papermakeupstamps.blogspot.com/.  The challenge was to be inspired by the sun!

Challenge card

I have to go on and post this right now!  In my house, we are big University of Kentucky fans--even more so, now that Liz has tried out for--and made--the University of Kentucky marching band.  Hopefully, she will also make the pep band when she tries out net fall.  She will be a freshman at UK in August.  Hard to believe!  Anyway, with March Madness going on now--and UK still being part of the Elite Eight, I decided to post now!  For my card, I used an image from http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ called BB Basketball Boy.  I love these Bugaboo Brat images.  I used UK paper that I had, Georgia Pacific and SU cardstock, Papertrey buttons, computer generated a sentiment, colored with copics, and used SU oval punches.

This card will be entered into a challenge at:
The challenge was to use white and one other color--mine was blue.  Directions said that skin color could be used, so I assumed hair color could to.

GO BIG BLUE!!!!!

Catch the Bug Challenge--and Big News!

Today starts a new challenge at Bugaboo.  We want you to make a card that is kiwi, banana, and melon (some are calling it coral--but then it doesn't sound good enough to eat!).  If you don't have those exact colors, try to come close (we're not real picky; we just love to have fun!)  After you have created a card, head over to http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/.  There will find all of the details and info about the challenge.  You will also be able to see all of the wonderful creations that our design team made (more about that design team in a minute!)  Now, for my card:

I used one of Jodie's (http://www.bugaboostamps.com/) freebie stamps this week.  Be sure to check out those images--and all of Jodie's images!  They are so cute!!!  I used a plaid DP with those yummy colors. cardstock, ribbon, and buttons from Papertrey, colored with copics, and added crystal effects to the turtle's umbrella and boots.

 And now--about that design team!
As you know, Bugaboo Stamps is expanding.  We put out a DT call at the beginning of March--and WOW! did people respond!  The new incoming members have been selected, and I have the privilege of introducing one of them.  Please meet Jeanie Witmer!

Jeanie can be found at http://thespottedchick.blogspot.com/.  Be sure to go there and check out her blog.  All I can say is WOW!  Her work is amazing!  She is one of the best colorers (I'm always unsure if that is a word!) that I have ever seen, plus she must live by one of the best paper sources in the world--because the paper that she uses on every card is knock-down gorgeous!!!  Her work is just fantastic.  When I asked Jeanie what she likes best about Bugaboo, she replied "the old people".  She wasn't talking about me, however; she was referring to the Gus and Stella lines!  She should fit right in with me, because you can see that I feature those lines very often!  She said that the one craft supply that she could not live without was her copic sketch markets.  (She puts those to good use!)  Her advice to anyone who wants to be on a DT is practice, practice, and practice!  (I'm going to try that and see if my coloring can start looking like hers!  I'm also going to see if she can meet me and go designer paper shopping some time!)  I could go on and on about Jeanie, but I would prefer to let you see for yourself.  Go look at her blog, and you will see what I mean. To Jeanie, all I can say is "Welcome Aboard!  We are very lucky to have you on our team!"

Now, if you did not start at the beginning, be sure that you go to http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/ and be sure to visit all of our current design team members.  If you are on schedule, you should have arrived at my blog from Yvonne's blog http://big-scrappy-world.blogspot.com/.  You will write down the names of all of the incoming design team members who are introduced on each blog.  E-mail the entire list of incoming DT members to tsmiller@insightbb.com and please place BLOG DT MEMBERS in the subject line.  The correct entries will go in a random drawing for a prize.  This prize is in addition to the one offered to participants in the kiwi/melon or coral/banana challenge. Now--go and visit Melissa, one of our very talented DT members at http://ihaveprettierstuff.blogspot.com/.  Her blog is I Have Prettier Stuff--and she certainly does!!  Be sure to play along with us.  See ya later!

Oldie But Goodie Day!

This is an appropriate card for me to post today, as I am on the middle day of a three-day subbing assignment.  As you may know, I am a retired high school teacher--and I feed my stamping habit by occasional subbing days.  I sure am tired, though; don't know how you ladies work a five-day work week.

My card uses an image from http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ called BB Skye.  I love it!  You may have noticed that I color most little girls with red hair.  That's because Liz, our 17-year old granddaughter who lives with us, has red hair (and brown eyes--beautiful combination!)  This little girl reminds me of Liz, who is a high school senior this year!  I'll have to admit, however, that she no longer looks like this!

My card uses SU and Papertrey cardstock, school paper from Big Lots, an SU punch, and the chalkboard and star embellishments also came from Big Lots.  If you don't shop there or Tuesday Mornings--you should start!

Jodie, at http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ has released some new images in the Gus and Stella tidbits line.  Be sure to go over and check those out!  I'll be getting some new ones also, as soon as I finish here.  I love these Gus and Stella images.

For my card, I used scraps of DP from my stash, Papertrey cardstock and ribbon, circle nestabilities, a sketch from Aly's Sunday Sketches, colored my image with copics, and added three colored pearls.  I put some crystal effects on Gus's glasses, and the one eye cracked a bit; looks like Gus's glasses are so thick that you can't see through them!  LOL!

Lots of challenges for this card!

Today, Jodie at http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ has three new freebies for you! The first card I am going to show you uses the image--white rabbit.  We always have Easter dinner for our relatives, and I am going to use this card as the invitation for the dinner.  The inside will say "A Very Important Date" and give the details of the dinner.  For the card, I used some Easter paper from my stash, Papertrey cardstock and ribbon, and colored the image with copics.  I cut out a mat with scalloped scissors.

My next card uses the image called raggedy angel.  For this easel card I used some paper from my stash, Papertrey cardstock and buttons, lace from My Favorite Things, cut  scalloped borders with an SU punch, and made mats with oval nestabilities.  I added some bling from my stash, used stickles on the image, and added a Bella sentiment--You're an Angel".  I colored the image with copics.

My last card uses the image called tulip block.  What a great spring card!  I used Papertrey cardstock, two kinds of DP from Urban Oasis, cut out mats with scalloped scissors, colored the image with copics, and added one pearl to the image.  I highlighted the tulip with stickles.  This is a gatefold card.

Be sure to make a stop at Bugaboo sometime today.  These are great free images to pick up.  Remember also that there will be others available for purchase in these lines.  Bugaboo has wonderful images!  Stop back tomorrow for a sketch challenge.

Oldie but Goodie Day

On Thursdays, the design team at http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ showcase some of the older images.  The one that I am using today is called Gus Consciousness.  I love these Gus images; he is such a character!  I used some DP from a Christmas pack from Lizzie Anne, some ribbon from my stash, papertrey cardstock and buttons, and a sentiment from Our Craft Lounge. I used a sketch challenge from Just Us Girls.  I like this card, especially since I think "man" cards are harder to creative!  Check out the Bugaboo site--there are some great images to use for those difficult "man" cards.  Be sure to stop back tomorrow for Friday Freebie, and then on Saturday for a challenge we are hosting.  My card:

The challenge was to create a male themed card.
The challenge was "Just for Men"

Challenge # 2 (last for the day)

My second card also uses an image from the newly released section of the Bugaboo Brats at www.Bugaboostamps.com .  This image is called BB Michael sitter.  I used paper from my stash, Papertrey cardstock and buttons, colored with copics, and used two SU punches to create the corners and the border punch.

This card will be entered into a challenge at http://notimetostamp.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/
The challenge was to create something with a punched border.

Challenge # 1

I'm going to share two challenge cards with you today!  Over the weekend, Jodie at http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ released some additional Bugaboo Brats images, and this is one of them!  It is called BB Best Buds.  I love this line.  The images make such cute cards for kids.  I used some paper that I bought at Tuesday Mornings, Papertrey cardstock, ribbon, and buttons, and colored my image with copics.  My card is a 5" square card.

Tuesday New Release # 2

The second card that I am sharing with you uses another new released image from http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ called music note baby.  It's really a cute image to use for a note card!  I used Papertrey cardstock, the cuddlebug music folder which I rubbed with SU white craft ink, I used scraps of DP from my stash for the strip down the side and the paper pieced note, added a bella sentiment "Just a Note", tied ribbon from JoAnn's on the card, and added two music paper clips.  I colored this image with copics and added some stickles to the little angel.

This card will be entered into challenges at:
The challenge was to create a monocromatic work.
Challenge # 9 was to use one color (black) and a neutral (white).
